What started off as a hobby and passion soon became my profession. I have always adored sculpture and a 3 day workshop in stone sculpture kicked off my obsession.I work directly with the stone, uncovering form and finding the shape hidden within.. that's the fun part. My work is predominantly figurative however recently I have begun to play with abstraction of form.
In 2019 a lifelong dream came true when I went to Pietrasanta, Italy to carve marble, a wonderfully immersive experience carving glorious Carrara marble in an area steeped in artistic history... it was the most amazing experience.
Many of my artworks have been sold though galleries and various art exhibitions, winning prizes for my sculpture along the way....
My art enriches not only my creative life but also those who have bought my works.
My artistic career began carving hard stone, I adored it and still do, I am a direct sculptor in that I find a shape, curve or face in the stone and then carve my way around the stone, looking for "the sculpture hidden within".
It can be frustrating and exciting all at once, stone has a will all of its own!
I work with many hard stones but

I work with many hard stones but my favorites are Alabaster and Carrara Marble.
Recently I have ventured into the world of Bronze sculpture, creating a wax sculpture which is then made into Bronze, I love this medium too, as it allows me to create works that simply cannot be made in stone.
I started painting in acrylics in 2018, it came as a natural progression from doing life drawing, sketching and sculpture. influenced by Picasso, Whiteley. Van Gogh and Mirka Mora, plus so many more....

I love playing with the female form, exaggerating curves and poses, creating something both emotive and beautiful. Its a practice I adopt when I feel like playing and exploring colour, line and movement especially when I have ideas and deigns that cannot be expressed in stone.
